How to Mail Pizza Offers (Successfully) with EDDM™

When it comes to restaurant marketing, how can the Every Door Direct Mail™ (EDDM™) program be used? It's a great question, and the answer is that there are so many possibilities, the sky is the limit. The bottom line is that direct mail campaigns generate new revenue and cash flow in a variety of ways. This simple truth is why most restaurants who try direct mail advertising, never stop. When restaurants want to engage both current and prospective customers, there is pizza direct mailno better or more cost-effective method than Every Door Direct Mail.

The most popular EDDM™ product for restaurant operators is the11" x 17" Flyer (aka: Takeout Menu). This format offers plenty of space for entire menus with an optional coupon strip on the side (see example image in this article). When restaurants first open, or need to increase sales volume, they mail out several thousand flyers with coupons.

When established restaurants want to start new promotions and specials, the best way to advertise is often with a postcard promotion campaign. The wide range of available postcard sizes makes it easy for restaurants to cut costs and still deliver a powerful offer to prospective customers. For example, a restaurant owner who wants to promote a monthly "featured item", perhaps a $10 pizza, can send out 10,000 4.25" x 11" postcards for as little as 27¢ per home - all inclusive (yes, that includes postage too). With any direct marketing campaign, the mailer size should be based on the message or offer that you are presenting. The more items or coupons you wish to mail, the larger the size postcard you should select.

All mailers should include some kind of offer so that your recipient is tempted to redeem the offer immediately. When restaurants mail out a menu or postcard that does not have an offer on it, the response rate will typically drop exponentially. Coupons make it easier for a consumer to justify an expense, and or switch from their current "go to spot" for pizza and takeout food.
