Menu Printing & Online Ordering: “Must Know” Tips to Increase Your Sales

One of the most effective ways to boost your restaurant business is to have an eye-catching and value-oriented takeout menu. But it’s not as easy as it sounds. Many pizza operators and restaurant owners simply list their items and prices and expect the customer to do the rest. This is a horrible mistake that can cost you thousands! Instead, think of your menus as an “advertisement” and not just a listing or items and prices.

The Golden Rule for Menu Printing:

Always encourage the customer to order immediately online or by phone.
Do so by adding value to your products and services via specials, coupons, and other methodologies that are “perceived” to be of extra value (such as fresh ingredients, local publicity, and unique menu items). Here are some examples:

Keep in mind that most takeout/pizza customers are weighing their decision largely based on the “convenience factor.” With that in mind, you MUST offer online ordering (especially in the year 2011!) to make it as easy and as “frictionless” as possible for customers to place their orders.

Even better, research from a national restaurant chain stated that online orders average an impressive 15% to 25% higher average ticket size. In short, online ordering makes your restaurant more convenient, increases profitability on each order, and enables you to capture contact information (name, phone, email, address, etc) for future marketing campaigns. If you don’t have online ordering, get it before it’s too late! Don’t “surrender” the massive online market share to your competitors. More and more people refuse to call in orders each year.
