USPS® Rebrands Standard Mail® as USPS Marketing Mail™

USPS Marketing Mail
The USPS® is officially rebranding Standard Mail® as USPS Marketing Mail™.

First noticed in an October 2016 document titled, “January 2017 Proposed Structural Changes (Pre Release Document),” posted on the official usps.gov website, the rebranding effort has since begun.

Here is the full excerpt from the document:

The USPS is considering changing the product name of Standard Mail to USPS Marketing Mail. All postage forms and reports will be updated to reflect the name change.

Note: The indicia on the mailpieces should continue to display current standard mail abbreviations until notified by the USPS.
There will be changes to the Postage Statements. The following Postage Statements will be updated: PS Form 3602-C, PS Form 3602-EZ, PS Form 3602-N, PS Form 3602-NR, and PS Form 3602-R.

There will be no changes to the Shipping Services File.

There will be no changes to Mail.dat and Mail.XML.

We will update this report as more information becomes available.
