When you target certain areas with the EDDM program, your message and offers can be prepared specifically for them. People that live in the same are usually looking for similar products and services. If you refine your message to reflect the area that you are mailing to, your recipients can feel a connection to your company so your mailer will not be considered junk mail. In addition to your message being refined to your consumers, your offers and discounts can reflect them as well. You have to weigh our which discounts will be most profitable for you to offer and valuable to your consumer.
These are the big reasons why the EDDM program does not deliver junk mail. Every piece of mail delivered has a purpose and everyone can benefit from it in their own way. To generalize and say that all mail that doesn't apply to you at the time is junk mail is out-dated.
