Timing In Between Mailings

For restaurants using the Every Door Direct Mail Program, the time in between mailings has the most gray area. There is no definite time frame that you should wait when you want to engage in another mailer. There is no specific formula for the right timing of a mailing. You pretty much have to consider your business and what will be best for you in between mailings. You have to find the time frame is that is good for you, not waiting too long for mailing new offers too early. You want to give your customers enough time to use your coupons and respond to your mailer.

You don't want to mail new offers too soon because then your customers will forget about your previous coupons that you sent and not take full advantage of your previous mailer. When you are planning on revamping your menu and sending out a new mailer with new coupons, you need to give your customers time to digest your old offers. Mailing again too soon will cause your previous mailer to go to waste if the coupons are not all used. Every few mailing cycles, you need to give your mailer a face-lift. This keeps it interesting and your customers will not get bored of the same coupons and design. You don't have to drastically change the design of your menu but you should change up the color schemes every few months to keep your mailers fresh.

When you wait a long time in between mailings, that may be good for your business or it can be detrimental. If your previous mailer needed a follow up mailing, like announcing the upcoming of a particular event, then waiting too long will cause your customers to forget and they may not be as interest by then. You have to time your mailings so that you can offer enough time in between that your customer will still be intrigued when receiving your next mailer. You have to find a good balance between too soon and too late. Mailing at just the right times will keep you on track and you will receive the best response back from your customers!
